Required Qualifications
EXPERIENCE :
Five years in administration and nursing accreditation.
Two years in a pre- or post-licensure nursing program.
One year as a Registered Nurse providing direct patient care.
KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS / ABILITY :
Knowledge of nursing educational program administration.
Knowledge of the principals and practices of nursing, including nursing guidelines set for the Board of Registered Nursing.
Knowledge of curriculum development.
Knowledge of teaching and clinical practice in the nursing field.
Knowledge of current developments, trends, and complexities within nursing and the healthcare industry.
Knowledge of health-related education in a global economy.
Ability to recruit for and market an education program.

Essential Duties
Carry out the instructional programs of the SON and implement the educational and professional objectives by working directly with faculty, staff, and students to develop excellence in teaching, professional experience, scholarship, and public service programs.
Developing and implementing curriculum that is congruent with the philosophy and curriculum of the Nursing Program.
Supervise and evaluate all program faculty and staff.
Preparing accreditation reports for the Board of Registered Nursing ( BRN ) and participating in Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education ( CCNE ) accreditation self-study process.
Arrange clinical placements; monitor clinical contracts; submit appropriate forms to BRN for on-going site approval and oversee calendar of clinical rotations, ensuring that students are compliant with agency requirements.
Coordinate Admissions Committee for student screening and selection.
Provide ongoing advisement and monitoring of students, faculty, and staff.
Promote intra- and inter-department collaboration and communication. Work directly with other colleges, schools, agencies and programs both inside and outside the University to achieve MMDSON goals and objectives and to ensure compliance with BRN regulations.
Work with the Development Department to support annual and capital fundraising efforts. Seek new grant opportunities.
Develop and administer the budget for the MMDSON . Prepare recommendations and support data concerning budgets, facilities, and personnel needs.
Serve on the Academic Senate. Make recommendations related to students, faculty, personnel, curriculum, instruction, budgets, and other academic concerns.
Participate in professional organizations related to nursing and teaching and serve on Nursing Program committee(s).
Other Duties and Responsibilities:
Establish and maintain agency affiliations and contracts.
Assist with student recruitment.
Serve on Nursing Program committee(s).
Promote external relations with professional organizations.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Complexity
