Temporary Clinical Associate - Spring 2014
This is professional nursing work in assisting the faculty of the College of Nursing and Health Sciences in preparing and presenting material to nursing students. The employee in this class assists faculty in instructing and evaluating students and provides individual assistance to students when required.
Essential Functions:
Coordinates with clinical activities as directed. Promotes an effective clinical learning environment. Assists in providing clinical resources to enhance learning. Participates in the assessment of student progress in relation to course objectives and clinical activities. Coordinates resources, equipment and supplies available in the College Laboratory and Nursing Center Clinic Assesses, plans, implements and evaluates creative laboratory experiences under the direction of nursing faculty. Establishes and maintains equipment necessary for college laboratory experiences. Demonstrates effective interpersonal relationships. Performs other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge of professional nursing methods and techniques. Knowledge of accepted methods and practices used in nursing training. Ability to assess students' performance and recommend changes or corrective action in students' activities. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, faculty, and administration. Basic computer knowledge (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Netscape and SPSS).
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Nursing is required. Current licensure with the Alabama Board of Nursing. Current liability insurance.
