The University of Nevada, Las Vegas invites applications for Assistant or Associate Professor/ Lecturer/ Faculty-in-residence (FIR) appointment in Pediatric Nursing.

PROFILE of the UNIVERSITY

ROLE of the POSITION

The School of Nursing at UNLV, a CCNE accredited program at both undergraduate and graduate levels, invites applicants for a full-time, 12-month, position to teach pediatric nursing and other graduate level courses. This position may be filled by an Assistant/Associate Professor (tenure-track), Faculty-in-residence (FIR track, non-tenure), or lecturer (non-tenure track appointment). Responsibilities specific to tenure track appointment include: 1) conducting and disseminating research, and 2) grant writing for funding research. Responsibilities specific to FIR track include: 1) translating research evidence to practice, and 2) leadership in delivering and evaluating essential student maternal child learning competencies. Responsibilities specific to lecturer include: 1) teaching maternal child courses, and 2) teaching in related, qualified areas of the nursing program. All appointed faculty are expected to teach and engage in service activities.


QUALIFICATIONS

Assistant or Associate Professor (tenure track): applicant must have a research doctorate in nursing or related field from a regionally accredited college or university and an MS in nursing from a nationally accredited program. The applicant must have a fundable program of research.


Faculty-in-residence (FIR track, non-tenure): applicant must have a doctorate in nursing (PhD or DNP), an MS in nursing from a nationally accredited program and a minimum of 2 years recent experience in pediatric nursing. Board certified nurse practitioner status preferred.


Lecturer (non tenure track): applicant must have a master's degree in nursing with an emphasis in pediatric nursing from a CCNE or NLN regionally accredited college or university and at least two years of recent clinical experience in pediatric nursing.


All applicants must hold or be qualified to hold a Nevada RN license.


Preference will be given to those eligible for a tenure track appointment.



SALARY RANGE


Salary is competitive; contingent on labor market. Position is contingent upon funding.
