Job Summary/Basic Function:

Teach primarily in undergraduate courses and supervise students in clinical settings.

Opportunities may be available for teaching in graduate courses.

Maintain involvement in University, College, School, and professional service.

Contribute to nursing's body of knowledge through personal and collaborative scholarship.

Student advisement


Knowledge/Skills and Abilities:

1. principles of teaching and learning.

2. currency in clinical practice.

3. communication (both oral and written) with a variety of communities.

4. knowledge of practice issues in area of expertise.

Minimum Qualifications:

Doctoral Degree in Nursing (PhD, DNS/DNSc, DNP) or related field.

Master's degree in Nursing.

Educational and clinical experience in adult health and/or gerontology.

Current unencumbered license as a registered nurse in Georgia required at time of hire.

Teaching experience.

Familiarity with Microsoft Office products.


Preferred Qualifications:

Certification either in area of teaching or clinical area.

Familiarity with synchronous, asynchronous, and online instruction.

Familiarity with patient simulation equipment.
