Position Summary
The Clinical Instructor teaches the clinical portion of selected courses. S/He is responsible for the lab and clinical settings, and participates in students' learning experiences through collaboration with faculty and other members of the academics team. S/He conducts activities in accordance with KHEC policies and applicable regulatory and accreditation requirements.

Key Job Responsibilities
- Demonstrate high quality teaching skills in all courses taught and support students in their academic endeavors. Provide clinical instruction and evaluation to students in approved health care settings.
- Conduct the clinical and laboratory practice sessions scheduled for selected courses. Proctor examinations as necessary based on the course content.
- Participate in ongoing program evaluation activities as needed.
- Provide student learning experiences and guidance that are consistent with the course outcomes, objectives, and evaluation criteria. Participate in preparing lesson plans, learning activities, and performing evaluation of the learner's knowledge.
- Review student participation weekly and provide information to the Dean. Ensure that students are receiving regular outreach.
- Assist as required in preparation of accreditation materials for the campus.
- Participate in professional development (i.e., conference presentations, scholarly publications, etc.).
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree with active RN license.
- 3+ years related experience. Minimum of 2 years of full-time experience in clinical practice as a registered nurse OR minimum of 2 years full-time academic years of experience as a teacher of nursing.
- Active engagement in studies leading to the next highest nursing degree for which eligible.
- Competence in computer applications: word processing, spreadsheets, databases, and email.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills; excellent teaching skill and ability to efficiently manage students' critical and skills lab activities; current license to practice as a registered nurse and nursing license(s) in states specific to the school's goals and regulatory standards.
