This faculty member will be responsible for classroom, lab and clinical teaching in the CNA/GNA program and for assessing, planning, implementing, evaluating, and overall coordination of both the CNA/GNA and the Certified Medicine Aide (CMA) programs and students in conjunction with the Director of Nursing.
Education and experience - Bachelor degree in Nursing preferred from an accredited college or university; two or more years experience teaching in nursing is required, at least one year of which must be in the provision of long term care facility services; clinical experience in nursing, including client teaching; completion of a course in teaching adults or experience in teaching adults is required; experience working with diverse populations; excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills; and ability to work as an effective team member.
Skills and abilities - Ability to establish effective relationships with members of the community, students, fellow faculty, and college staff; ability to learn and work with a variety of clinical simulation software and other computer applications such as Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel; able to organize and prioritize work; attend to details; and work in a team oriented setting.
