Full-Time Nursing Faculty

The College seeks experienced, qualified, and dynamic Full-Time Nursing Faculty for the Violet Schumacher School of Nursing, located at our Bridgeview, Illinois campus. These positions will commence February 2014.

The Full-Time Nursing Faculty will be responsible for providing quality instruction through nursing skills labs and clinical simulations guided by the Fundamentals, Maternal/Well Child, and Psychiatric/Mental health courses and program objectives.

Responsibilities include:

• Providing lab and simulation instruction specific to assigned Fundamentals, Maternal/Well Child or Psychiatric/Mental health courses


• Participating in school retention initiatives by providing regular, timely feedback to students concerning academics, behaviors, attendance, etc.


• Creating an atmosphere of motivation and collaborative learning in all educational processes


• Completing all professional development and in-service activities as required by the College


• Instructing students in specific level skills and assessing competency


• Actively participating in School of Nursing scheduled meetings

Requirements include:

• Experience working as a registered nurse with discipline specific clinical expertise


• Master's degree in Nursing from an institution accredited by an accrediting agency recognized by the U. S. Department of Education


• Certification in nursing education and specialization fields highly desirable


• Current unencumbered registered nurse license in State of Illinois


• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, the internet, and basic management system software


• Previous experience teaching in higher education highly desirable
