Position Objective:
Broward College invites applicants for a full time tenure track teaching position in the RN to BSN Nursing Program.
Anticipated hire date: August 2014
Minimum Education:
Doctorate in Nursing or Nursing Education highly preferred. Master's of Science in Nursing, and an unrestricted Florida Registered Nursing License required. Nursing (BSN) teaching experience in theory and clinical setting. Basic computer skills including Word and Excel required. Interest in teaching online classes required.
Minimum Experience/Training:
Minimum three (3) years experience in adult/ community health, medical surgical nursing and nursing research in a college or university setting required.
Minimum Certification/Licenses:
Must have a current, active unrestricted Florida Registered Nurse license, current or pending.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Candidates should demonstrate (1) a mastery of their specific discipline; (2) a minimum of 5-years of acute care nursing experience (pediatric/adult and a minimum of 2-years of community health nursing experience, (3) a deep commitment to the college mission of fostering student success, achievement and persistence; (4) technology competencies as well as teaching/counseling skills and strategies that facilitate 21st century literacies; and (5) the use of resources that prepare students for productive lives.
