Earned Master of Science in Nursing required. Graduate coursework in medical-surgical nursing preferred. Earned doctorate or progress toward doctoral degree preferred. Commitment to achieve doctoral degree prior to final tenure decision required. Strong academic background and clinical expertise in the area of medical/surgical nursing practice and/or teaching required. Eligibility for Pennsylvania RN licensure is required if a current PA RN license is not held. Demonstrated ability to work with diverse populations preferred. Finalists for this position must communicate well and successfully complete an interview process with a teaching demonstration, as judged by departmental faculty. Recommendation for hiring is needed from a majority of the regular, full-time faculty within the department.
