Bloomsburg University of PA – Full-time, Tenure-track Nursing (Medical/Surgical) Professor

The Department of Nursing at Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania which has an accredited BSN and MSN program is seeking applicants for one (1) full-time, permanent, tenure track Medical/Surgical faculty position at the undergraduate and/or graduate levels. This position includes classroom and clinical teaching and experience in both for the beginning student is preferred. Instructional delivery can occur through on-line, traditional, and alternative instructional methods and can occur on main campus or off-site educational locations. Voluntary summer or winter contracts may be available. Successful candidates will have a strong commitment to excellence in teaching, research, and service.

Earned Master of Science in Nursing required. Graduate coursework in medical-surgical nursing preferred. Earned doctorate or progress toward doctoral degree preferred. Commitment to achieve doctoral degree prior to final tenure decision required. Strong academic background and clinical expertise in the area of medical/surgical nursing practice and/or teaching required. Eligibility for Pennsylvania RN licensure is required if a current PA RN license is not held. Demonstrated ability to work with diverse populations preferred. Finalists for this position must communicate well and successfully complete an interview process with a teaching demonstration, as judged by departmental faculty. Recommendation for hiring is needed from a majority of the regular, full-time faculty within the department.
