Job Summary: Reporting directly to the Director of Nursing (Van Nuys), the DON is responsible for the academic leadership of the Vocational Nursing Program and management and supervision of the nursing faculty and support staff, for providing leadership in managing, planning, and implementing a comprehensive post secondary adult vocational nursing program. Participates in curriculum development, determination of teaching assignments, evaluation of faculty, and selection/coordination of program specific external facilities. Provides professional leadership and support for teaching faculty; serves as a mentor and facilitator for faculty and students.
Qualifications:
- Current California Registered Nurse License required
- Must have a minimum of three (3) years experience as a registered nurse; one (1) year in teaching or clinical supervision or a minimum of three (3) years experience in nursing administration or nursing education
- Bachelor degree required
- Must meet Board of Vocational Nursing and Psychiatric Technicians (BVNPT) requirements
- Knowledge of educational standards such as ABHES, BPPE, and other accreditation standards
