Assistant Professor

Job Description

East Carolina University College of Nursing is currently seeking applications for a full time tenure-track or fixed-terim faculty position at the rank/title of Assistant Professor or higher. The ideal candidate will demonstrate interest and expertise in medical-surgical nursing. Faculty responsibilities include planning, teaching and evaluating theory and clinical courses that may include classroom/didactic instruction, and online teaching using Blackboard format. This position may also involve the direct supervision or precepted experience of students in clinical settings. Preference will be given to applicants with recent clinical and teaching experience in medical surgical nursing.

Minimum Qualifications

Required Qualifications: Tenure track positions require a doctorate from an appropriately accredited institution in nursing. Non-tenure requires a Master's degree from an appropriately accredited institution in nursing. A valid non-restricted nursing license is required upon employment. Two years of clinical nursing experience is required and completion of 9 semester hours in nursing education. Preferred Qualifications: Teaching experience and national specialty certification is preferred.
