Job Summary : Reporting directly to the Director, Nursing is responsible for developing and maintaining clinical sites, student placements and contractual agreements and assisting with securing new clinical affiliations for the Vocational Nurse program. Provides professional leadership and support for clinical teaching faculty; serves as a mentor and facilitator for faculty assigned; and enables an environment which fosters creativity, responsiveness, and self-responsibility. Oversees, supervises and manages faculty and students assigned to clinical sites, makes phone or on site visits, mediates conflicts, establishes specific learning objectives, records attendance, and supervises clinical affiliations to ensure that the experience is adequate and achieves a satisfactory level of performance. Remains current in applicable program field, participates in faculty meetings, instructional seminars, and in-service training sessions. Participates in school activities such as faculty meetings, student functions, graduation exercises, open houses, new student orientations, and advisory board meetings.
Qualifications:
Must have a minimum of two (2) years experience as a registered nurse (RN) within the last five (5) years
Bachelor degree in nursing required, Master’s degree preferred
Current California Registered Nurse License required
Must meet Board of Vocational Nursing and Psychiatric Technicians (BVNPT) requirements
Current Driver’s License and CPR Card required
Two (2) to three (3) years experience working with or in clinical sites, placing students, and coordinating related documents preferred
Knowledgeable of education standards such as Title IV, ABHES, BPPE, and other accreditation standards preferred
Proficient skills and experience in Microsoft Office computer software systems that includes Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
